The mission of the United Democratic Club is to empower Democrats across San Francisco to foster civic and philanthropic engagement.
Founded in 2016, the United Dems is a diverse group of Democrats who seek to unify and empower San Francisco’s many shades of Democratic blue so we are best prepared to promote and defend Democratic ideals on a local, state, and national level. Our 100% volunteer board aims to fight for social justice, protect those who are vulnerable and work to provide economic opportunities for all.
We’re not just a political club – we’re an organization that has “giving back” built into our foundation. To date, we've hosted 120+ member events, 32 of which were volunteer opportunities or fundraisers for local non-profits. Our 600+ members have collectively donated more than 5,000 hours of their time to campaigns and issues.

Dancing for A Cause (D4AC) is the United Democratic Club’s yearly hallmark gala where we gather in support of social justice issues.
For 2018, the United Democratic Club is supporting the Young Women's Freedom Center, a non-profit with a mission to, "to empower and inspire young women who have been involved with the juvenile systems and/or the underground street economy to create positive change in their lives and communities."
The theme of this year's gala is #TBT (Throwback Thursday - dress like your favorite decade), so be prepared to dress up and dance the night away.
Ages: 18+
The Young Women's Freedom Center, is an organization led by cis and trans women and girls of color who have experienced incarceration, worked in the underground street economy, and been criminalized by social services such as foster care, welfare, public education, and the mental health system.
The Young Women's Freedom Center's works to build personal and collective power, to heal from trauma, to advocate on behalf of ourselves and our sisters, and to change the systems, policies, services, and narratives that ensnare young women of color, poor young women, and queer and transgender young women in cycles of violence, economic marginalization, incarceration, and self destruction.

"Politics has always been a passion of mine. After the 2016 election, I was motivated to get off the proverbial couch and do something about the issues I so often talked about. UDC provided the outlet to get engaged - and I've gotten the opportunity to work shoulder-to-shoulder with inspiring people! No club does more to give its members the tools to make a difference in our City."
IZZY MALOUF, - VP of MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
